DIY CBD Vape – Everything You Need to Know

You’ve finally done all the research and you want to start taking CBD. The next step comes down to ‘what’s the best method for me?’. You’ve heard about the oilsextracts and crystals, but you’re not sure what’s the best way to get the results you want.

There are many reasons people decide to take CBD: some for chronic illness like epilepsy, cancer or dementia, others may take it for pain, stress and anxiety. CBD has so many helpful qualities, you may find it harder to find something it doesn’t help than something it does.

Is Vaping CBD for Me and What Does it Do?

Vaping has rapidly become a popular way to take cannabis due to its quick and effective results. Inhaling CBD vapour works well for those who are looking for a convenient and quick way to take their daily dose. A few puffs of your vape pen can help relax muscle tension, calm nerves and aid with pain management. Vape pens can easily be carried with you: just pop it in your bag and you’re good to go.

Vaping technology is developing all the time, with new devices being researched and released frequently. The most popular ways to vape currently are portable vape pens and table-top Vaporizers. These devices work by heating CBD to its ideal vaporization point, after which internal sensors will keep temperatures at safe levels without combustion. CBD oils, e-liquid, waxes, crystals and even the cannabis herb itself can be put into the vape device chamber and heated to release a steady flow of calming CBD vapour.

The advantages of vaping CBD are not only the quick sensation, but it can be seen as the healthier option and an alternative to smoking. Combustion occurs when cannabis is smoked, which releases harmful toxins into your lungs. By vaping CBD, it’s possible to avoid these toxins. CBD oils, extracts and crystals don’t contain THC, which is the psychoactive compound found in the plant, helping you avoid the ‘high’ that is commonly associated with smoking cannabis.

CBD provides essential support and balance to your endocannabinoid system, stimulating your body’s CB1 and CB2 receptors, encouraging homeostasis. This aids your body’s production of its own natural endocannabinoids, helping regulate your mood, sleep, appetite, and immune responses.

Why Should I Vape CBD vs. Other Consumption Methods

People often choose vaping over oral and topical methods, because of its almost instant results. Vaping, compared to eating CBD, can be up to 50 to 60 percent more effective. The reason vaping CBD works so fast is because it goes straight into your bloodstream: When inhaled, the CBD vape bypasses your bodies bioavailability, which is your bodies quota for absorption.

How you take CBD, can also affect the results you feel. Ingesting CBD can inhibit absorption beyond a certain point. The equation goes that for every 100 milligrams of CBD that you eat, only 15 milligrams is actually absorbed into the bloodstream and circulated around the body. The CBD that you eat also has to travel through your digestive system and through your liver. As our bodies are made up of 60 percent water, CBD’s oily consistency can also make it harder for it to be absorbed.

Vaping is a way of getting around that pesky ‘bioavailability’. It makes CBD more water soluble, allowing for your bodies to absorb much more of it. When eating CBD, it tends to be stored in the liver and fatty tissue instead of being used in full.

The initial investment of choosing vaping can be a little steep for those thinking of taking CBD for the first time. However in the long-run, vaping can be a more cost-effective option: Overall you are getting a faster result and you’re able to absorb more. In time, you could end up buying less with greater effects.

For the unlucky few that have allergic reactions to cannabis and CBD extracts, vaping CBD crystals can be a good option. CBD oil and CBD extracts can still contain the terpenes from the plant that can be troublesome for those with allergies, while crystals are isolates of 99% pure CBD.

Making Your Own CBD E-Liquid/Vape oil

As you continue to experiment with vaping and using CBD, you may need to change your dosage from time to time. Making your own e-liquid can allow you to tailor your vaping experience and easily control its quality.

As CBD culture is growing, so are the number of products that become available. There have been cases where quality has been an issue with other non-organic counterfeit CBD products. That’s why we advise you to always use 100% organic CBD.

To make your own e-liquid, you need to consider how strong you want each serving to be. This is important to note, as you don’t want to make it too strong and waste your doses.

Ingredients

  • 99% Pure Endoca CBD Crystals (isolate)
  • Flavoring of Your Choice (Optional)
  • Vegetable Glycerin
  • Propylene Glycol
  • Glass Dropper Bottle or Plastic Tip Bottle
  • Blunt Tip Syringes
  • Digital Scale
  • Vape pen or vaporizer

Carrier oil

Measure out 60/40 ratio of Vegetable glycerin (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG)

Dosage

The dosage of CBD is up to you. We recommend this ratio:

To make 15mL of e-liquid: add 1 gram of CBD crystals to 15 mL of carrier oil

1,000mg (1 gram) of CBD in a 15mL bottle = 66.66mg of CBD per mL).

If you want to try a lower dose, you can try 500mg in 15mL.

Directions

  1. Weigh out measurements and add CBD crystals to carrier oil
  2. Heat mixture at 120 degrees F, stir until dissolved
  3. Use syringe to add to bottle, shake well. Store in cool dry place

As well as home made e-liquids you can also find vape pens and vaporizers with chambers, that can take CBD crystals, extracts, waxes, pure CBD oil, and the cannabis herb by itself.

The choice is yours, so have fun experimenting and happy vaping.
